  • What is happening?

After beginning Faith Chapel in April 1981, Mike Moore has decided to transition from his position as Senior Pastor of Faith Chapel and “pass the torch” to his son, Michael K. Moore. He will submit to Michael K. as his pastor.

  • When is the transition taking place?

Mike Moore will serve as the Senior Pastor until December 2022. On January 1, 2023, Michael K. Moore will officially be the new Lead Pastor of Faith Chapel.

  • What is a Lead Pastor?

The title “Lead Pastor” will replace the former label of Senior Pastor. Same role. New name.

  • What will be Pastor Mike's new title?

As a point of clarity, he is NOT retiring. As a full-time Mike Moore Ministries (MMM) employee, his official title will be Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His official Faith Chapel title will be Founding Pastor.

  • Will Mrs. Pete remain on staff of the local church?

No. Mrs. Pete plans to enter retirement in the second half of 2022.

  • Will Pastor Mike still be involved in the local church after the effective transition date?

Yes. He will serve as a mentor/coach for Michael K and he will be scheduled throughout Faith Chapel’s annual teaching calendar based on a combination of his discretion and availability.

  • I attend the Columbus campus. Will Naomi Scarbrough still be the Campus Pastor?

    Yes. Absolutely!

  • Will Michelle Moore now do Summer Camp like Mrs. Pete did?

No. Michelle will not take on any of Mrs. Pete’s previous duties. The Summer Camp will continue; however, Mrs. Pete is mentoring someone to take on this responsibility.

  • Will Pastor Mike and Mrs. Pete continue to remain on the Faith Chapel Board?

No. Over the course of the coming months, they will both begin a process of transitioning off the Faith Chapel Board of Directors and will begin transitioning onto the newly formed MMM Board.

  • Will Michael K transition onto the Faith Chapel Board of Directors after the effective transition date?

Yes. Once Michael K transitions into the role of Faith Chapel’s Lead Pastor, per the church’s Bylaws, he will transition onto the Faith Chapel Board of Directors and will also serve as its chairman.

  • Are there changes to Sunday services prior to the transition?

Great question. At this time, we have not planned any changes to the services.

  • God told me Pastor Mike was my pastor. Now what?

As always, we believe you should pray for God to reveal to you who your pastor is. Although Michael K. is becoming Pastor and we believe that God has ordained this, we completely understand if you would like to pray about Michael K. as your pastor and your set place. We actually encourage it.

  • Should I pray about the entire pastoral team about being my pastors?

Prayer is always good. However, the Lead Pastor would be considered the shepherd. When you’re praying about who your Pastor will be, the Lead Pastor is who we are referring to.

  • Will Min. Jermaine one day be the Lead Pastor?

No. Jermaine, as the Executive Pastor, will work closely with the Lead Pastor to implement the vision for Faith Chapel.

  • Will Min. Jermaine be part of the teaching team?

No. Jermaine’s responsibility will be to lead the day-to-day operations of the local church.

  • Does this change impact The Bridge?

No. The Bridge will still provide the same services you have been accustomed to receiving.

  • Does this change impact Mike Moore Ministries?

Yes, in the best way possible!!! Dr. Moore will now have time to devote to the expansion of Mike Moore Ministries and use his prophetic teaching gift. Although he will not be the Senior Pastor of Faith Chapel, he will now be stepping into the next phase of his purpose to equip the ENTIRE Body of Christ across the nation and the world!

  • This is exciting! How will we celebrate everyone?

Stay tuned! We have Appreciation Events that we are working on.
