Michael K. Moore’s Calling

“God’s Words to me have been progressive and ever-present concerning my calling.”

CALLED INTO MINISTRY: In 2005, while in corporate America in Charlotte, NC, while reading my Bible in my Charlotte apartment, the Holy Spirit quickened the beginning verses of Ezekiel chapter 2 (they “jumped off the page”) and I sensed that as He had called Ezekiel to speak to His people on His behalf, He was calling me into ministry to do the same. So, I moved back to Birmingham, AL, and started working for Faith Chapel the following year.

CALLED TO FAITH CHAPEL: I knew that I was called into ministry and I knew that my ministry journey had started with employment at Faith Chapel, but I wasn’t sure if I was called to be at Faith Chapel long term or whether my time working at Faith Chapel was seasonal preparation for another ministry work. In 2009, while working for Faith Chapel, the Holy Spirit quickened Isaiah 45:13 to me. I didn’t understand the interpretation of that revelation at the time but a few months later, Pastor Mike began teaching us on the topic of vision and he shared that one of the two verses that God quickened to him as he was first launching Faith Chapel was Isaiah 45:13. When Pastor Mike shared that, I knew that God was confirming to me that I was called specifically to Faith Chapel.

CALLED TO PASTOR: On September 25, 2017, at 7:00 a.m., the Holy Spirit quickened Isaiah 44:28 to me. In that verse, God states that the same Cyrus, who He has called in Isaiah 45:13 to help His people, is also called to be a shepherd. God told me that I was a “shepherd.” This confirmed for me that God was calling me to serve as a shepherd for His people who attended Faith Chapel. “I know without a shadow of a doubt that I’m called to be the Lead Pastor of Faith Chapel. I’m ready!”
